Using your emotional intelligence
If you happen to have a group with students you have known for along time and they know among themselves too. There is a good excersice to begin the class as a warm up based on the book EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE BY DANIEL GOLEMAN. Each student will say a number from 1 to 10 which best represents his/her feeling or mood an ...d explaining why. Sometimes it is a good way to feel relieved and relax.

Tasting experience
You can do this activity as I did with my students. Not only children but adolescents and adults. They will enjoy the class because they will find it different and suprising. In order to get the difference of these adjectives ( sweet, salty, spicy, sour) you can bring food to taste it. Before this, you may give examples in order to get the meaning of the adjectives they do not know. Then, you cover student´s eyes and you give them a bit of lemon, a candy, pepper, salt or something salty such as snack ...etc. Students must guess the food they are tasting or al least the category. Once they discover they must provide a sentence with the corresponding adjective. For example: Lemon is sour, pepper is spicy...etc.
